Top Comment: Finally: a guest who's not a right-wing grifter! And Tom's awesome.

Maybe it’s just me, but this show—while VERY different from Joe’s show—hits on a lot of the same targets. Different humor and format but lots of nature and everyday stuff that is somehow very relaxing and appealing. Definitely give it a chance if you haven’t already.
Top Comment: Oh nice, I watched him for a bit when this concept was still just a YouTube series. Definitely not the tom green I remember from the 90s-00s though https://youtu.be/Ftr8fVLBIik?si=X14FxWv9nmN1GA3R

Top Comment: This would be a pretty funny guest. He had a podcast/radio show for a long time, right?
Has anyone ever seen Tom Green's stand up live? Is it good or worth going to? I've been hearing him on the podcasts, because he's making the rounds for a show he's doing or something, and he talks about how he's also on tour, but

he sounds pretty subdued in the interviews, to be honest, and way different than the weirdo Tom Green from 20 years ago. Is he still funny? what was your exp?
Top Comment: Saw him last year while he was filming his Amazon special. Wasn’t sure what he did wouldn’t translate to stand up but he surpassed my expectations. Worth it for sure.
Tom Green is the single most influential comedian of the last 25 years

The Tom Green Show is often in the discussion for worst TV shows of all time, and it’s absurd. Tom Green’s humor and The Tom Green Show is the reason we have jackass, The Eric Andre Show, Billy on the Street, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he even influenced Impractical Jokers, or at least influenced the people who influenced them. Any of the most beloved, or at least well known prank-related OR street humor based shows can be traced back to Tom Green. That’s not to say he invented it, but he mastered it, and is probably the reason all of the comedians you love started doing it.
On top of that, Freddy Got Fingered is an extremely misunderstood film. The jokes aren’t the jokes themselves, you’re not meant to laugh at him...mishandling... a horse - the joke is that a studio begged Tom Green to make a movie and gave him total creative control, and he took the $14,000,000 they gave him and used it to mishandle a horse. It’s an anti-film. He was screwing with the studio and trying to make an awful film. If you understand that and still dislike it, fair play. But at least understand it before you hate on it.
He was also extremely influential when it came to podcasts. He was very innovative and hosted one of the earliest shows that could really be called a podcast, back around 2006.
Everyone acts like Tom Green is Canada’s biggest mistake. He’s not. Without him, YOUR favorite comedy show might not exist.

Top Comment: Never heard of him.
Tom Green creating a monster out of Joe Rogan in 2007

Top Comment: Tom Green was the prototype for so many incredibly popular formats/styles of content, everything from the Jack Ass type, to "it's just a prank, bro" YouTube channels, to absurdist "le random" humor that was big a decade+ ago, to Podcasting and the deconstruction of the Talk Show format. Plus the brilliant Freddy Got Fingered. To the average person or someone not paying attention, it's just a dumb comedy. To someone aware of filmmaking, the film industry, and its tropes, processes, and history it's a masterpiece of satire.

Only discovered Tom Green somewhat recently and love it, but find most people just don't get it. How do you explain why Tom Green is funny to people?
